'05 Tahoe surging with cruise control on

Can anyone point me in the right direction for my '05 Tahoe that surges with cruise control on but ONLY when going downhill??? It works fine on the flats and uphill only when going downhill it surges. I'm stumped. Thanks.

My 03 did that too. If it was too bad I just kicked it off until I was at the bottom and then hit resume again.

Do you have GT5 4:10s ?? Mine does it also .

Is it a surge, like the rpm's flare, or does it feel like the system is trying to control/slow down the speed but is just not smooth while doing it? The "deceleration fuel cut off" does exactly that so that you don't have a popping noise thru the throttle body. If I remember right it is also not recommended to use cruise control when going down a hill.

There are write ups about all this when you google the problem you complain about.
