im a newb to all this suspension stuff. do i have autoride on a 05 tahoe z71?? reason i ask is i found a great deal on a ground force lowering kit. and just want to make sure its the right kit. he says it fits Years 2000-2006 for escalade, ext, esv, Tahoe, Yukon, XL, denali, etc. i got on ground forces site and they have several kits to choose from. i just dont want to make a expensive mistake beoing as it is from a private party sale, so doubt hed give me money back if it doesnt work on my truck

What does the kit include? I'd say talk to NorCalss (Tony) hell prob chime in at some point he's the suspension man for these trucks and has great knowledge and customer service.
As for you suspension now you can look for your suspension code, or look under and see if you have rear air shock.
Do it right the 1st time so you don't end up spending to much money in the long run.

Hope some of this helps

judging by what im reading on ground forces website is it has a new set of lower rear springs. lower torsion keys, and depending on kit different shocks for front and rear. but ill ask the seller to make sure as well.

if my truck has auto ride, will it look like a regular shcok with an airbag on the top of it? or will it be something completely different

Like you stated yesterday it will look like a shcok with a rubber boot on top of the shock if its auto ride.

Is the kit the 2/3 with shock extenders or new shocks?

My honest opinion the keys will suffer the your ride quality, you'll be modifying bump stops to try to be happy. Unless your only going an inch I'm the front keys will be fine. I'd go for spindles keeps factory ride quality with 2 inch drop. Do you want to keep air ride if you have it?

Id check out Tony's page for packages:

ok in front if you want more hten 1 inch i would not do keys

in rear the kit should have autoride links/shock extenders/new springs. That being said the belltech on autoride trucks rides the best with the 5305 coil.

HOw low do you want the drop to be 2/3 or more?

I just dropped mine with the advise from Tony. I wanted to keep the factory ride, so based on my involvement I would do spindles in the front.
Keys being adjusted to lower the vehicle ends up riding like sh*t.

Totally impressed by the Belltech Kit 759SP. All new hardware and totally with the extra $$$. Trust me you wont regret it.

Before / After measurements:
Front 36" before / 34" After
Rear 37.5" Before / 34.25 After

the rear endlinks/bumpstops i have as a option on my page is deff worth it. fixing the swaybar angle in the back of these trucks after lowering helps it out.

i finally looked at my truck. i do not have autoride.

guy with the lowering kit got back to me, his kit is for autoride, and only includes, keys, and rear springs. being as i found it on craigslist and hes about 5 hours away, i asked him about shipping. he wants too much to ship them, so ill pass on that.

ive been browsing here and there about lowering. im thinking new spindles are the way to go also. id like the truck to look a little more aggressive. nothing crazy, so i think id be happy with a 2/3 drop.
dhulsey, your truck looks great with the 2/3 drop, thats what im looking for.
