I have a 2005 GMC Yukon Denali having sunroof issues! The sunroof opens perfectly fine but when I attempt to close it it, it stops in the "vent position" not closing all the way! I noticed that the tracks are a little broken because I pulled out a little plastic piece plus a metal bowed piece (which I think is a part of the closure) is sticking out on both sides and the connecting piece are broken, but does not seem to affect the closure doors functions at all. But the absolute worst happened! It rained overnight and when i woke up this morning to further investigate my issue, my interior was infested with mold and carpet is soaked PLEASE HELP!
Will take any advice on the closing my sunroof even if that means I can't use it again. I don't care about that. Plus any advice to get to the mold completely out of my interior as it will cause extreme health issues because i have reactive airway lung disease. Thanks in advance

Also I tried to turn over my engine and now my Denali will not start at all! I check the voltage of my battery and it reads a solid 14.1 so it's not my battery issue my key fob won't even unlock my doors unless I have a jump pack connection to the battery but it just bogs and wants to turn over but doesn't...is this an issue with the water or mold growing? Absolute mess!

When I looked under the hood my cold air intake filter was soaking wet, could that be an issue?

I don't know about the sunroof issue, other than if you can't close it you may want to temporarily tape some heavy plastic over it.

How is water getting into the engine air filter, isn't that a sealed unit?

Also, can you describe your "no start" symptoms differently? Does the engine crank (turn over) but not start? Or does it try to turn over but doesn't even do that?

Okay so today I'm still having issues, but it's gotten worse unfortunately.

Everything is completely dead my key fob won't unlock my car and my battery has 1.4 volts.
I have a NOCO genius jump pack so when I hook it up to jump my car it doesn't give me the ready signal to start my car... so I have to force it by pressing and holding the bypass button on the noco to start my vehicle...
And when my car is finally started my sunroof will open, but then only close to the vent position keeping it open as it has been ...

Now none of my windows work, doors won't unlock or lock and I'm having electrical issues as I had the rain flood my car and have a mold issue since then I have removed all my interior completely gutted it so I can clean it up and now I got the headliner down and as expected the whole track system is pretty much busted...

now I'm just trying to figure out how to close my sunroof all the way so I have no more water leaks! I don't care if it opens back up or not...

As far as everything else with the little knowledge that I have with vehicles, I'm thinking it's the BCM? BUT I'M REALLY HOPING IT'S NOT THE BCM!! cuz that's an expensive part!

what other parts would be causing these issues and why is my sunroof working (almost closing) but all other windows, stereo and door locks do not??

Even when my car is running, my key fob won't lock or unlock my car doors (yes I replaced the battery in key fob with a brand new one)..

I checked all of my fuses, all of my relays and they're all good as far as the windows and door locks and lights etc.

But as of now with all these problems occurring I'm afraid to start my car back up to go the route of testing to see if my alternator is charging my battery...

So how would I go about checking all of my electrical issues, without actually starting my car risking and blowing more fuses or shorting out circuits?

ABSOLUTE DISASTER OF A MESS BUT AT LEAST I'M GETTING IT ALL CLEANED UP GOT BRAND NEW SEATS AND PRESSURE WASHING THE CARPET KILLING THE MOLD WITH VINEGAR AND HOT STEAM WITH AUTO EXTRACTOR BUT I'M MAINLY CONCERNED ABOUT MY CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND MY BATTERY NOT HOLDING CHARGE

AND I NEED THIS VEHICLE TO GET TO AND FROM WORK.. SO ANY ADVICE, VIDEOS & PICTURES OR SCHEMATICS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
IF I LEFT OUT ANY DETAILS, JUST MESSAGE AND I'LL RESPOND AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

@adventurenali92 had a similar situation with his moonroof. Hopefully he can suggest something to help with that.
I got super lucky with this exact failure on my 06 Yukon XL Denali, six years or so ago. What happens is the pieces that move the glass along the track to either vent it up or drop it down and slide it back break and then they get lodged somewhere in the track. Usually wherever they get lodged in the track is wherever the sunroof glass will get stuck and stay open. I got super lucky in that the track piece that broke off lodged itself right behind the rear end of the sunroof opening so my glass would not drop down and slide open as it should. It would vent up as normal and close as normal from the vented up position, but if I tried to , open it all the way up it would drop like it’s going to slide and then just stop and go back up into the close position. I left it alone for quite a while and kept it closed. And then eventually had it sorted out. If you unscrew the glass from mount bar and slider pieces, you can then move the whole thing back and forth along the track until you figure out where the broken pieces are and get them dislodged from the tracks. Once that is done, then you can the move the track and slider pieces to the close position and screw the glass back to it in the close position.

How old is the battery? Has it been charged and load tested?

Do you have a voltmeter to see if the alternator is trying to charge that depreciated battery? The NOCO won't boost a dead battery; it needs to see some level of voltage from the battery to verify polarity; that's why you had to override that function.
