I just purchased a 2006 Denali 2 weeks ago with 70k miles total. It looks new and ran like new until yesterday. Now at total random the truck stumbles. This only occurs when accelerating in 1st or second gear. It also is only prevelant after truck has warmed up some. The problem never happens when cruising at any speed. It also never happens during moderate to fast acceleration. When it happens it is below 3k and it falls flat on it's face. It never cuts out though. If I release gas and catch it quick it seems to stop it. Even if I stay in it it corrects itself within seconds. There is zero lights on the dash from it. There is a clicking noise from engine bay when it happens. Sounds to me like throttle body opening and closing like a flickering noise. I tried to clean throttle body and MAF today with zero change. I can stop the truck at any speed and it runs flawless. Just driving me nuts chasing it.

Would a single bad plug or wire cause the entire truck to loose all power like that though?

it could cause a stumble yes, may not be enough to cause a misfire code but could still be enough to notice, could also still be the throttle body or maf, a scanner that can read live data would be helpful.

I will throw in some plugs and wires tomorrow as they are cheap and easy. They all look original anyways.

Sounds like it could be a throttle body--just my opinion tho.

Interested. I have the same issue. 115-120k miles and original plugs/wires lol.

Been bugging me for months but could never figure out what the deal was. No codes either.

Let me know if the new plugs and wires work.
