been a while since I have been on the forum sold my ltz a while ago and got a killer deal on a lt1 2007 Tahoe for my wife ..... So here it is it's a lt1 truck it does not have remote start and I want to make it have it I read I need to buy Gm part "#19154444" (with out tail gate lift) from what I see it's just key fobs and I need to have the dealer re program the truck for them and that's it ........ Here is the question there like 200-250$$ could I just buy used key fobs with remote start button from a junk yard or on e bay or knock off fobs on e bay and have the dealer program them To work ???

From what I've read u have to go through the dealer cuz they have to call in with the codes off the package to get the codes to unlock the remote start.

Following this, I have a 2011 Yukon with AP8 and would also like to upgrade to the remote start, we have the tech 2 scan tool at work however before I buy the kit and try it I would like more info on this.
When I added this to my Sierra he used his laptop not the tech 2. If I'm not mistaken there is an unlock code you purchase with the fobs. I also believe he had to get on the phone with GM.

I checked on another forum and there are a few guys who did buy used fobs, but u still have to go thru the dealer cuz they have to call and get the unlock codes, its not something where u can just log in and unlock remote start, it requires codes from gm
