Per my recent yearly state safety inspection, they said the two LBJs were bad, and wanted $1,056 to replace. Not in this economy bud!

$63 and two days later I had some AC Delco parts delivered. (It was nice that they made them in China, so I didn't have to worry about Amazon selling fakes, made in China.)

While I was waiting for them to be delivered I removed the two old parts, and it actually went off without a hitch.

They were either the original parts, or someone had replaced the entire LCAs as I had to deal with the pressed/flaired lip securing the LBJs instead of a big C-clip.

The MacGyver'ing started upon installation. The AutoZone rental tool wasn't long enough to fit the top cup adapter, so I substituted a thinner piece of steel for the screw to press against (a pry bar). It worked great, and all I needed was a 1/2" rachet to press the new LBJ up into the control arm.

Bingo-bango, all set. Just had to add the C-clip, grease fitting, and bolt everything back together. Even used a torque wrench today.

And, as always, don't forget the proper lubrication.
