There are no broken bolts on the exhaust manifold, they've actually been replaced before. The Tahoe is going to the Dealer for diagnostics tomorrow so I'll just wait to see what they say. I already have the pickup tube O ring and I'm prepared to do the pump as well just to avoid dropping the oil pan again.

Nothing, I just got the oil pressure sensor and the little screen from Amazon today, so I changed the plugs and started it up and the pressure was at 40. I drove it until it reached temperature and all seemed fine besides the ticking.
Did the oil pressure go back to normal after you replaced the oil pressure sensor or before?

I changed the plugs and it went up. When cold it reads 40 psi when warm its 20psi. It's at the dealership atm I'm waiting to see what they say.

Wow, you could have just as easily kicked the left rear tire and the same thing could have happened. That doesn't make any sense. There was another thread that I can't quite remember that had something to do with bad oil pressure and the engine not running or something along that line. Something about protecting the engine internals like an extreme limp in mode.

That sounds like a lifter to me. If you changed the sensor and the screen, I'd say the screen was clogged. My avalanche has done it three times. Just shit breaking loose I guess.

Update: Dealer says oil pressure dropping to 20 psi is totally normal. And the tick is from the exhaust manifol . No issues there, they also told me that I have a blown head gasket and its gonna be $1,700 to fix. I may just part the thing out.
