07 Yukon Denali flex fuel conversion

Hi I’m currently in the process of modding my 6.2 Denali, I’m planning on putting a truck Norris cam kit in it and also considering making it flex fuel.

I’ve read on some forums to swap the fuels injectors and fuel pump from a L9H or a L94 onto my L92 to make it flex fuel, however I have concerns since I’m putting the cam in it that the stock injectors from the L9H or L94 won’t be able to keep up after a tune.

Would the stock injectors be fine or what injectors would you recommend? Or is the flex fuel conversion even worth it?

@iamdub knows the flex fuel system pretty well and might have some insight here. But I believe you'll also need a tune for flex fuel if your ECU can even support it.

Depending on what your definition of Flex Fuel is: if it's true E85, the truck will run on it (pretty well actually) but you will end up with lean bank 1 and 2 codes because the injectors can't spray enough fuel.

I have found a 30% blend on stock is fine, no codes, but mpg goes down. 20 -25% is a good mix for stock with mpg close to 87 octane fuel. I've been running 89 - 91 recently for many tanks and it only gets slightly better than 87, so not really a cost savings at all.

Lastly, I believe you could find a tuner to adjust the fuel maps to be friendlier to E85 to get a power increase, better mpg than it would get stock, and not have any faults. I recently purchased HP TUNERS to try this for my 2008
