So I took my new to me 2007 Yukon into the stealership today to find out why my AC is not turning on. I bought the truck when it was cold about one month ago and was told that everything operated normal. The service tech showed me....wait for it.....a bullet had left a hole clean through the side of my truck, through the rear HVAC housing, evaporator, and actuator. Now I am fighting with the dealership as they stated they had no idea that was there, yet they also stated that the AC was tested and worked fine. The bullet hole was filled and the truck has fresh paint on that side. There is a second hole in the bottom of the fender well also but that did not leave any other damage. My question is do I need to VIN match this unit or would any 2007-2014 Yukon rear unit work. I am looking for used ones incase the stealership does not comply with my request. The carfax showed that it was stolen and recovered, sold at auction to the dealer I bought it from. I know the cops did not fill the hole and paint it and neither would an auction house, so that leaves me to believe the stealership lied and knew about this issue prior to the sale. THe sales manager said he has been driving it and had no issues at all. :hmmm2:

Not one comment? The reason I asked is the dealer said it had to be VIN matched but I don't see why it would.

I think you have a valid case with the dealership. I would fight it out before getting a new unit. No gonna be cheap.

This. If the dealer knew about this before selling you the truck, I'd be pissed.
