1) I sold eibachs and they dont give you the advertised drops esp in rear
2) the stock springs with drop struts rides better than aftermarket front springs on stock shocks

Great info here! I learn more and more about drop kits all the time :)

Johnso-- Looks great! Did you install or not install the rear 1" spacer? And what's the center-to-center length of your autoride links?

Thanks.

No rear spacer. Links 2.5 -3 inches. I just noticed that autoride pumps up after startup and raises the back 1/8-1/4 inch. Not sure if I need to shorten or lengthen so that they don't air up at all unless there is weight in the back . It may be good as it is because I occasionally tow a boat and a little extra height don't hurt. The ride is fine not too stiff or bouncy.

if the truck has higher miles i would do drop struts over spindles. Might as well change out the worn out shocks and keep great ride.

What do you consider high miles? I have 75K on mine and the kit I just got from you is the spindles.

over 75k id look into doing shocks. Lots of trucks i see have oil on shocks from a blown one. If yours doesnt then you should be good to go.

Links

I notice a lot of conversation about the length of the autoride links. I currently have the links installed that came with my Belltech 2/3-4 drop; what is the length of these links as supplied? What is the advantage (if any) to shortening these (or do you need to buy shorter ones)??

The links I received were just threaded screws with no heads. You remove the stock screws from the links and insert these. Just screw them to desired length and reinstall the links. My understanding is the correct length varies, but i thought it was 2.5 inches from center to center with no spacers and 3 inches with spacers. Tony, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Johnso -- The idea is to have the rear raised up ONLY WHEN it needs to be, like when towing your boat, not when it's sitting with its normal load. If the compressor is coming on at start up, your links are too long.

Belltech tells you 3" center-to-center, but that's still too long with the spacer in. I have mine at 2-3/4", and I still get some airing up.

Mark -- Rather than sawing threads off of the Belltech-supplied links, I recommend going to Home Depot in the hardware section, and buying a pack of all-thread bolts (10mm, I think they are -- I have the packet in my truck...), and sawing the heads off of them to 1/4" shorter than the Belltech ones. Experiment from there.

Thanks KMeloney for the quick and detailed response. My 07 Burb currently has the 2in front/3in rear (spacer in) set up. The truck does air up at startup - if I shorten the links (currently at the Belltech 3inches), how will the ride change? That is, would it be stiffer or softer as, I assume it would then be riding more on the rear coils and less on the shocks.?. Also, anyone know what is the shortest length one can get with the actual BT links? I ask b/c I may eventually remove the rear spacer.

Thanks for all the great advice!!
