IMG_6694.JPG IMG_6693.JPG Hey Everyone,

I am picking up an 08 LT 2WD on Friday that I was fortunate enough to pick up at a great price. It's immaculate! I'm planning to upgrade it to leather, probably Katzkin (closest they have to factory), and will probably make some other mods.

I have a few questions based on some things I've seen on here:

1. Will the factory stereo allow for Bluetooth calling? Bluetooth music streaming? Does it have XM standard? If not, is there an adaptor and how much does that normally run?

2. If I were to upgrade the stereo, is there a specific one that you all recommend for someone who likes all things to work factory (I.e. Steering wheel controls) and just wants the above mentioned functions? Will a newer head unit work?

3. If it doesn't have remote start, what's the procedure to install if it has the wiring already included (I think I saw you need to look for a code in the glove box).

4. What other must have mods are recommended for someone who will just be using it to get around town and a few road trips?

I am attempting to attach 2 photos, hopefully that will work. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Well im new here and definatly no expert so take my advice with a grain of salt.

1)The stock headunit does not accept bluetooth but im sure there are adaptors you can buy and plug into the aux jack. Not sure about xm radio. Ive had good luck with this in my truck. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00M...th+adapter&dpPl=1&dpID=414Kc6dCoBL&ref=plSrch

2)Aftermarket head units are a matter of personal preference. I like kenwoods for touch screen dual dins and jvc for single din. Jvcs are cheap but they work great, but in my opinion when you pay that much for a vehicle it deserves something nice. There is an aftermarket adaptor you will have to buy to make the steering wheel controls work. This one should work https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B...el+control&dpPl=1&dpID=41HYgT8b+iL&ref=plSrch

3) i would love to know the answer to this as well. Im not a fan of aftermarket so id love to have a factory fob with remote start.

4) Just normal new-to-you vehicle maintenance. Flush and fill fluids, tune up, and use good gas. I just got my 08 tahoe monday and i feel like its a great all around vehicle. everything else is personal preference. A tune is always a good place to start though.

Your tahoe looks great bud congrats on the purchase!

For factory remote start, you need to verify that you have the remote start prep. RPO code AP8 in the glovebox. Then you just but the retrofit kit through the dealer. It gives you 2 new fobs and includes a code to enable the remote start. You will have to dig up the part number via google, I believe it runs bout $200 plus "install".

I understand not wanting aftermarket and all of that. I had a viper on a super duty that I liked well enough. Had great range (supposedly close to a mile), remote start, I could see temp inside the cab of the truck, and I could add additional security features like tilt and a sensor for detect a broken window. There was even an option for subscription security monitoring.

The factory setup will start and run max ac or defrost/heat to cool or warm the inside. I believe that it also turned on the heated seats and mirror/rear glass defroster. I would guess that it will do air conditioned seats if they are factory. The down side is that the range is about the same as the factory keyless remote, which is pretty much crap for anywhere besides home and maybe the office.
