Im going to take it to the dealer i just don't know if they can duplicate the problem bc it happens so randomly. Ill give it a shot and see what they say. Thanks elizabeth ill keep you posted. To Cjr2. do you have the ac turned on when you turn the truck off? I think it might have to be set to on before you remote start it

I believe that operation of the a/c , heater and seats is controlled automatically dependent on the outside air temperature.

Ryanls1,

Did your dealership duplicate the same issue you were experiencing?

Thank you

There is a bulletin on this. Mine did this when I first got it. There is a software update/upgrade they need to do. Something to do with the a/c compressor activating to early before the refrigerant enters the compressor. The noise is somewhat of a chattering like the belts are going crazy. I actually got it on video to show my dealer because it was so difficult for them to replicate. See below. Hope this helps

My 2008 makes the same noise randomly too. I will be taking it into the dealer and checking on the TSB...

acainindy,

I am sorry to hear that you are also experiencing this issue. Please let me know if your dealership shows your vehicle under the TSB.

Thank you,

My factory remote start dies probably 20% of the time. To me it seems as if the truck stalls out. It fires up, then dies. It will not remote start again untill the truck is started with a key. If it dies and I try to remote start again the blinker lights just flash but nothing happens. I have taken mine to the dealer 3 times and they were unable to duplicate the issue and gave me a print out of how to operate the remote start (Despite the fact that the directions are on the back of the remote. Also the remote start system is a very basic thing to operate, about the same level of difficulty as adjusting the mirrors....). And no it has nothing to do with how long the button is pressed because it's done it while quickly letting go of the button and holding it in. That theory doesn't make sense because the truck is merely looking for the trigger or signal to start a process (the starting sequence).

That AC squeal thing seems unrelated to my issue but I have had that problem when starting the truck normally. It does that about every 20-50 starts.

Thanks for posting that video alex that is exactly what mine is doing. Im taking it to the dealer today and my guy said he has heard some other trucks on his lot doing that as well so we will see if mine is a simple fix as yours. Did the software update fix the problem?
