I was going to search for similar problems but honestly I'm not even sure what to search.
Just bought an 09 Tahoe w/ 114k miles on it. Seemed to be running fine but on the way home when I hit the left blinker the radio quit, the lights flashed the doors locked and unlocked and the transmission downshifted to a low gear and the RPMS near redlined. All while running 70mph down the interstate.
Turn the blinker off and it quit. Did it again later. So I cut the head lights on and that REALLY threw it for a loop.
The battery gauge was reading below 14. About 12. I went by the zone and got them to load test battery. Battery & Alternator both checked out fine. When we hooked the + side back up and I fired her back up it was reading above 14. And did fine the rest of the way home. Everything worked fine.
Went to eat and on the way to a friends house the needle (battery) dropped below 14 again and the radio cut in and out.
Then when I stopped & cut it off it went completely dead. Nothing worked at all.
So I took the battery connections off and cleaned all the grease off they had on there thinking that may be the problem.
It started and did fine on the way home. But I'm afraid it's going to happen again.
I'm taking it back to the dealer in the morning. But before I do have y'all ever heard of anything like this? Was hoping it could be something simple they sprayed or got wet or loosened when they cleaned the engine compartment. Or too much grease on the posts as keeping the battery from making good connection but they didn't seem to be THAT greasy.
