09 Tahoe Brake lights stay on when truck is running.

I changed the brake switch above brake pedal. That didn't do anything. Next step is take to shop I guess...I really hate having to pay someone 50-75 bucks an hour when I know that it is something that I can change myself

You could pay them for the diagnostics, and change the parts yourself.

So recently I've developed some issues. My traction control and service stabilitrac warnings have been coming up on DIC. usually they go away fairly quickly. But now my brake lights are staying on constantly. I know just by the way it is acting that problems with the transmission are arising. It has 155,000 miles so I figure it is about time for some attention to be given to the ol girl. If anyone knows what could be causing these issues, I would love some feedback...I have a 25,000 mile or 2 year extended warranty. So what should I do?

I recently experienced the same issue, also my cruise control didn't work. I replaced the Brake light switch on the Brake Pedal. Mine (2009 Yukon SLT) has adjustable pedals and the GM part# 25981009 cured it.

So my wife got in an accident in our Tahoe about 2 years ago, totaled but we still drive it, after the accident the brake lights were stuck on. I did some internet research and change the switch above the pedal as that seemed to be the common culprit it didn't help.

I was pissed I was about to just rewire the rear lights since like I said it is totaled but still drives fine, well playing around with the switch one of the wires to the harness popped off. It must have been barely hanging on when I changes the switch. I had to pull it out and solder it back together, which was a pain under the dash. That fixed mine. So not that you want to pull the wires hard as the are tiny wires, you might just give a slight tug and make sure they are all good. There are 8 wires I think it was that go to that harness.
