Just looking at my options in case GM doesn't assign me a relatively quick TPW resulting from numerous constraints. In the sense that of delivery is pushed to next spring/summer then I'd rather wait for the early 16 consensus cycle in Aug/Sept. If that's the case I'm looking at a temp fix.

A8 is pushed back one to two months, similar for the Z07 package. First consensus was today and dealers will get notification of how many they can order every subsequent thursday and GM accepts or rejects the order by the next monday, and it continues like this moving forward until the dealer reaches their allocation limit. (My dealer has 16). Problem is that by the time the A8/Z06 combo can be ordered, undoubtably other constraints will manifest. If they aren't critical like roof type I can adjust my order, but there are other options that I won't budge on on a $100+ k vehicle.
It's a complicated ordering process because GM can't be a grown up company that has all the parts available at all times to build the vehicles they release. For example a person who's tenth on my dealer's list but is happy with manual and doesn't want the Z07 package will likely get his car months before me even though I'm second. I'll know pretty soon what the gap is between orders being accepted by GM to TPW to delivery. If for example that gap is three months then if my order isn't accepted by the end of this year then I will likely wait for a 16.

Nope ... first year C6 Z06s and ZR1s have zero premium to them, even before the C7 came out.
The only way to get more for them is to be one of the first people with A8/Z07 options and flip them on the ebay before anyone else can get them. But I didn't do that with the RR I'm not going to do it with the Z06 ... I'm buying it to drive it.
