Touché… I’m looking at the Tech2 now. Have any advice on a reputable site to purchase from? I see some knockoffs available, but don’t know which ones are good and which to avoid.

Check out Dave's link, you want software 33.004 and all that stuff that comes with them which are used for self-tests and diagnostics. I like the blow molded case, others like to use cases from Harbor Freight for less. To connect to you your PC, you'll need a Serial Port adapter that goes from Cat5 to USB unless you still have a serial port adapter. This is only to connect to your computer if you want to do programming, not necessary for everyday use. It was a couple years before I programmed anything.
