sounds like you replaced the cam? what cam did you go with.

Alrighty guys I said I would be back, so it took me a little longer than I thought but basically pulled the engine and rebuilt it. New everything besides rings,pistons, and bearings. New oil pump, timing, cam, cam bearings, lifters, trays, seals, valve seals. It was a journey but all in all not that bad.

She’s on the road and been smogged, should have reg and new plates within two days. Windshield was cracked replaced it, needs a dash skin, tinted it, once windshield dries I’ll tint that. On the hunt for some floor mats, black grill, CarPlay radio. Other than that she’s running smooth, may pick up a new 12v battery to make sure everything is solid. Ohhh and have stuff to service trans, haven’t done it yet. I do have a minor coolant leak on the passenger side above the ac I’m not sure what that’s about I’ll have to look into it.

how much did it cost?

i'm about to get mine repaired as well it's been sitting a year :\
I saved up enough to get it done i jsut want to make sure i don't over pay

Lifter on seven was stuck and ate the cam, the bearing weren’t terrible but I replaced them anyway.

I went with stock everything including the cam.

I’m sure I saved everything on the labor side of it, I’m about $2000 into it all said and done including fluids.

Believe it or not I ordered the OEM GM cam through AutoZone online only because I was able to use the 20% coupon they have with home delivery. Worked out perfect and in fact did come from GM.

Everything else I used Rockauto.

Correct, originally I wanted to delete all of it but I heard conflicting stories with it being the hybrid model and read one where they couldn’t smog which would have been a problem for me to register it. So just opted to replace everything, afm is active and working all though I’m probably going to buy a range module to disable it.

I can tell you if you disabled it with hptuners all the monitors pass. that's what I did with mine because I already had hpt handy.



you might be about to find someone to do it for you for the cost of 2 credits.



the plug in modules work but need to be unplugged for the monitors to show pass before inspection. not a huge deal with all your stuff being new.
