Would it be possible to use a 130 AMP R111966A20200818_185638.jpg alternator in place of a 145 amp DR44G Delphi 20200818_203416.jpg alternator? Would the 3 prong wires from the 145 amp alternator work on the 2 wire alternator?

Im also having issues with a ground i think. One headlight brighter than the other. Have to tap the dash for the lights to turn on and also tap the headlight to turn on as well. Any ideas on where to start or check?

Thank you

If your Tahoe is spec'd for a 145 amp 3 prong alternator, I wouldn't try to fit a 130 amp 2 prong alternator on it. Its a fairly common alternator and you should be able to find one.

and it sounds like you might need a headlight switch if you have to smack it to get it to work indicating loose solder in the switch there only like $20-25 no point in spending time & effort trying to fix it.

Wow...Thank you! I had no idea it was a headlight switch...Thank You! (I did an engine swap and didnt think to tell mechanic to switch ALL my parts to the new engine replacement. He really got me good.) I checked Oreilly they want $62 so i will be looking around. Thank you guys for the great information. I returned to 130amp alternator and will be looking into a 160. Thanks Again
