Well I just got back from a 1600 mile road trip and all went well except not real impressed with mileage. Went through 5 tanks of gas and best was just over 17 mpg and worst being 14 mpg. Other then the 14 mpg tank it was all hwy driving most of the time cruise was set. It got 16 mpg one tank on a stretch that I was running 75-80 the whole tank cruise set. There was 4 ppl and 2 dogs in the car and luggage for 4 days so I wasn't pulling a big load. I was wondering what you guys thought about my mileage?

That is not bad mileage with that load.
4 people, 2 dogs and a luggage is at least 500 pounds. Meaning you will lose around 40-50% of your mileage. Factor in an intermittent full tank of gas and you actually did pretty good mileage wise.

Ok thanks for input! I was thinking of doing a blackbear tune, cai, and maybe a muffler. Anyone having any mpg increase doing these mods on nnbs Tahoe? I noticed some gains on my short bed after doing these things.

I have all those mods and you will gain 2-3 MPG if you can keep your foot light on the pedal!

I did all three of those on my 08 Tahoe and I had no mpg gains :(
