Just changed the bushings. Anyone know of a good trick to get the big spring that holds the door open back in where it goes?

they sell this tool at the parts store that compresses the spring so you can take it out and put it back it, picked it up when I did mine

I was reading up on this a while ago. Some guy said he compressed the spring in a vice and ziptied it. After install he just cut the zipties.

Hhhhmmmmm dont know if I would trust using zip ties. The spring has a fair bit of tension when compressed. Spring compressor was only bout 5 buks and saved me alot o hassle when I changed my door pins
