It seems that my 97 has OBD1. I have power locks. Is there a way of testing if I have keyless entry before buying a keyfob?

take a paper clip and connect pins 4 and 8 on the OBD2 connector. The locks will cycle after a few seconds which means you have keyless entry.

Pins 4 and 8 are on the top row of pins and they read left to right in order.

I seen a obd1 connector. I was expecting to see obd2 but it was obd1. I thought that a 97 would have been obd2. Am I looking in the wrong place. right under the steering column between the drivers legs.

I've got some pics.

From the pics it looks like I've got an OBD1. Maybe I've got an older engine in my hoe.

Looks like I'm going to get some surprises with this new vehicle of mine.

Please tell me I'm crazy though. I want to be wrong.
