how about just sending me the first eleven digits. with that i can tell year, engine, gvwr, brake capacity. and maybe help you correct some faulty title info or determine if you have been scammed. but if you did send the whole thing i could get you back a production run with all options installed. up to you. but technically yu did not get what you were told you were getting which gives you the right to fight back.

Might be stolen and they ripped the vin off a salvage 97 and stuck it on your 95...

I would check the other VINs. There is one on the dash, door jamb, and the info sticker on the fan shroud. I'll have to look around for more on mine tomorrow.

I found a cool site called "http://www.decodethis.com/". It seems to have worked very good. I blurred out after 11 digits but it told me it's a 97. That of coarse does not mean it actually is a 97, just it has a vin of a 97 and a title of a 97. Dylan is right. I should play around looking for vin number tomorrow.

sorry to say man but you have been defrauded. according to your vin plate you have a us built 97 tahoe with a vortec engine. that is obviously not the case and the sale of it was illegal. you have a 1995 or older. pics of you dash from left to right will narrow it down more. check your other vin number locations to verify the same. should find them in locations mentioned above.

just to clarify your registration to vin plate is correct but vin plate to vehicle is wrong.

I think you have to go to the dealer to get the keyless to work on a 95, probably not a good idea...

Get an aftermarket unit and install it yourself.

Taking it to a dealer might not be a good idea now , if its a chop shop job most of those parts might be stolen ...
