From the pics it looks like I've got an OBD1. Maybe I've got an older engine in my hoe.

Looks like I'm going to get some surprises with this new vehicle of mine.

Please tell me I'm crazy though. I want to be wrong.

dude please post your vin number here i would like to investigate this.

If you feel uncomfortable with that Just PM him the number I would like to know as well.

only thing I could see is a COMPLETE motor swap which wouldn't make sense

Check to see if the Vin on the motor and engine match as well

So since I have a tbi, are there any benifits or did I get screwed?

Also going back to the original question, is there anyway of knowing about the keyless entry before I buy a keyfob? Is there a keyless entry module under the dash I can look for?

Are you sure its a 97? Do you have a passenger airbag?

95 can have keyless, i don't know how to check for it though except looking up the RPO codes.

keyless module , Not that Im aware of Maybe sunlit knows . But I would imagine so.

I think you got screwed , The TBI motors stopped going into the GMT400 platform In 1995 I do believe, 96 ^ are all Vortec , Vortec motors are more fuel efficient , and have better HP and Tourqe numbers . The fact that your 97 has one Bewilders us . If you give Sun your Vin number he can tell you ANYTHING you want to know about your vehicle .

The title says 97. The vin on the car matches the title.

No passenger airbag.

Cool. I can live with the truck without the vortec motor. I guess I got screwed. I'm a little standoffish to giving out the vin. There's some scams out there and although Sunlit seems really cool and you guys also, I've only been on this forum for less than a month.

You have a 95.

There is something fucky with your vin number. If it was a 97 you would have a passenger airbag and obviously a vortec motor.

It being a 95 would make sense although its not what I would like to hear.

Now this thread has been very informative. I have learn more about my vehicle than I ever could have imagined.

I did buy it from a thug from the bad side of town. Sorry Southside Chicago guys that might be on here. LOL.

He was a nice thug though. LOL

Well it looks like I'm going to be looking into this VIN issue and exploring all other options with this vehicle.
