Does it give misfire counts by cylinder number?

I don’t recall for sure, but it may not throw a misfire DTC for a specific cylinder unless the counts pass a certain threshold.
Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner that can see misfire counts. It would really be helpful, although I’m being told from other sources you won’t be able to find a scanner that can read that type of data? I’m not exactly sure. Is it possible to read which cyl is misfiring, if so what kind of scanner do you guys use?

I use an old knockoff tech2 that I’ve had for years. A snap-on would do it, used discontinued models probably go for $500-ish but I’m not familiar with them. On another forum, someone used an Autel MX808 for it not too long ago.

Some of those download apps with a Bluetooth OBD may do it but no guarantees. DashCommand and CarGaugePro are two that can read the CMP offset so, in theory, may read the misfire counts by cylinder. Others can hopefully confirm.

Another option is to buy one locally (Autozone, Harbor Freight, etc.) that you can return if it doesn’t offer that function.

Edit: this guy used an app called OBD Fusion:

I would love to see the pictures to find out what he's talking about, can't even make a account.

Ill take a look into that! Although, now he’s got me thinking about lower intake gaskets. I wonder what shape mine are in…

Any coolant loss?

You may have mentioned it in another thread, but I forget stuff all the time. If you don’t mind, try to keep to this one thread. Makes it easier for people like me to keep track of things :)

These engines have a history of the intake leaking. Another "basics" test that I should have remembered about and can cause multiple misfires. I personally use a water squirt bottle, like what you use on plants, but other use carb cleaner and spray along the rails. I like to check from a cold engine till is warmed up. The smoke method you mentioned, may not be accurate depending on engine temp. Water will not catch fire put carb cleaner can. I have even seen where a repair was done by slightly tightening the intake attachment bolts.

Is one bank showing a higher LTFT than the other? That may help narrow down the cylinder culprit(s) by half.

Random thought re: vacuum leaks - your PCV valve line goes into a fitting that should have a second line coming out of it. That goes to a solenoid on the passenger firewall under the a/c accumulator. Is it broken or disconnected at either end?
