Good AFternoon TYF family,

I just wanted to update this thread and state that since the spider injection had been replaced, the truck lasted roughly 5 days before doing its intermittent crank but no start... Yikes!

Truck was diagnosed again for another bad fuel pump. Went ahead and warrantied out the ACDelco pump for another one. Free of charge on the pump and installation. No harm, no foul. The day after getting the new pump in, guess what happened.. BINGO!!! Intermittent no start.. Double yikes!

Was able to get it started the next morning and brought right back to the mechanic. Very nice down-to-earth older gentleman who is close to a family member, so I can't be too upset at him. I just wanted to trust my truck again to no longer decide when it wants to start or not.

Mechanic took his time this time and had it for 6 days. I told him no rush AT ALL. He finally found spliced wires along the fuel rail that were causing a short to the pump, not allowing it to prime on those random no starts. No charge. I would like to shout out east302 and exp500 for their knowledgeable takes. Very sharp members, who seemed to be suspecting an electric short to the pump all along. Thank you both for your very knowledgeable information and diagrams on this thread.

While it sucks to be out on money for the spider, fuel pump, and labor. It is only inevitable that these parts would need replaced down the road. No intentions on selling the truck.

It sure feels damn good to turn the key and hear the pump prime and love my truck again.

I apologize to anyone who may have had similar problems that read this thread and lead them to wrong ideas.

Long Live The GMT400

Glad it's finally resolved; that's gotta be a good feeling!

I'm "tagging" @east302 and @exp500 here since they may not see your post unless I do. Tag a member by typing the "@" symbol followed by the start of the member's name, then pick the correct name from the dropdown list. That way they'll get a notice that they've been mentioned.
