1999 tahoe drivers seat not working

I have a new to me 1999 tahoe 2 door LT
it has the drivers power seat
heated
lumbar etc
none of the functions are working on it

on the passenger side the power lumbar works
(it is a manual adjust seat on the passenger side)

On the drivers seat I removed the main connector that comes from under the carpet and goes to the 2 motors under the seat

When I take a 12v battery and connect it to the leads on the connector (from the motor side)
i am able to get all of the functions on the seat to work
so the motors and switches work

i did confirm that the fuse in the fuse panel is not broken also

but when i take a test light and test the red wires from the connector coming up from the carpet
none of them are getting power
according to the test light

what should i be looking to replace here in order to get the seat working properly again ?

If you got power coming from the fuse and you confirmed the switches and motor work, start probing wires with a multimeter to see where your break in power is.
Did you try wiggling connections in between to see if any of those are compromised?

yeah i tried moving the connector terminals around a bit
they were not really loose

and i cleaned down each pin and pin hole even though they were not really corroded

definitely left me a little confused as to how i am not getting power from the main connector

there is nothing in between the fuse panel and the actual harness connector that could go bad right ?

is it possible that section of harness has its own ground connection ?

im kind of at a loss here with it

Here is the wiring diagram from a 1998 which is likely the same for 1999. Maybe it will help.

Power goes from the fuse to a connector (C210, pin C) at the convenience center and then to the seat connector. The convenience center is the firewall panel behind the parking brake.

The circuit is grounded at G202 on the HVAC box.

I’d check for continuity on orange between C210-C212 and power at the convenience center.

I’m pretty sure this is ground G202 above the blower.

Edit: Just reread your post and see that the switch functions with a battery so your ground should be good.

C210 is above the letters GRY, power to the seat being the third wire from the left.

i am getting voltage on
c210 terminal d
(that is the thinner orange wire)

but on the thicker orange wire
c210 terminal A
I am not getting anything

the 3rd wire on the plug behind the parking brake
I have voltage on the 3rd terminal also

i apologize i am not an electrical whizz at all

so what should i try from here

(i also removed the side switch panel on the seat and all the wires are intact

but i am not getting any voltage from any of the orange wires at all on the switches

On C210, terminal C is for the seat. A and D are for other things…probably interior lights as it killed mine when I unplugged it.

So, if you have 12V on this pin…

…and nothing on C212 A (using the C212 black wire pin as the ground)…

…then the wire (or the connectors themselves) between C210 and C212 are suspect.

Try a continuity test between C210-C and C212-A.

With test leads on each end, it’ll read OL if the circuit isn’t continuous.

im just waiting for the snow to go away so i can get a chance to get back out there and mess with it a little bit more
