1999 tahoe

Hi everyone my 1999 4dr tahoe with 245854 miles on it is getting 17.5 miles to the gallon. Freeway of coarse. I was getting a p0307 code it would come and go. I pulled the 5&7 plug. 7 plug was black in color like it wasn't being used. 5 plug was normall tan color. Next I went to the distributor cap & rotor I got one screw out and the cap came out with it. The other screw wasn't working the hole was broken out in the distributor. The cap was tilted and not hitting the 7 post. Installed the fix it plate. I just did another gas milage check this one was 16.8 miles to the gallon. Before the fix I was getting 11 miles/gallon. Thanks for reading.

It attaches under the distributor with longer screws that go thru the cap. It's just a little metal plate I got it at orielys.

I'm wondering if I checked the milage wrong. I googled est gas mileage for 99 tahoe 4dr it came back with 13 mph avg out of so many cars tested. I used a gas milage calculator. I'm gonna have to look into this.

I had a cracked screw thread in my distributor for a couple years. It went away when I put in a metal body distributor. Thanks for posting this.

i wish i would have know about this 6 mo ago, i had to replace the distributor in My 99' great info, i will remember this for the future.
