Thank you for correcting me. I also get better gas mileage out of the Denali. Not by much but about 1-2 mpg .

I find that very hard to believe that a 6.2 XL gets better mileage than a 5.3 Tahoe

I averaged about 13 around town and at VERY best 17 on the highway with the Tahoe and I get about 14 around town and 19.5 on the highway with the Denali.

The best way I can explain it is that I don't have to mash the gas in the Denali to get it up to speed. Where as the Tahoe I have to floor it everywhere I went.

I have owned both. 2010 Tahoe LTZ and a 2010 Denali XL. Those have totally different suspension. The LTZ has magnetic where the Denali has air. They rode completely different. The Wife and I like the air ride better for the smoothness. The Tahoe ride was very harsh. The Denali sat lower with the awd where as the Tahoe was taller but had factory-installed automatic running boards (which were nice.) The Denali has the 6.2 better transmission and rear axle.

All in all we like the Denali better but it comes down to personal preference. Go and test drive both and see which on you like better.

My 2013 LTZ is the most comfortable riding vehicle I've ever owned. I've done several long road trips with the family and it drives like a dream. Very little driving fatigue. "Harsh" would be the exact opposite word I'd use but that's just my opinion.

My 07 LTZ is harsh. 2wd with 20 inch wheels. I get 17 MPG highway, and that's with a superchips tune.

I agree with the wheelbase comment. An LTZ suburban will ride better than a non-XL Yukon Denali (both have autoride). I'm biased, but I think my Avalanche rides better than either (same wheelbase as XL but lower center of gravity). Go for the 6.2L in GMC or Caddy, or if you want the MPG, throw a magnacharger on a 5.3...

Shocks must be blown or you have shit tires. Tahoes / Suburbans are some of the best riding vehicles on the road.
Definitely his shocks on an 07. Wonder if the rear bags are still holding air?..

It does have autoride and the shocks hold air with and without a load without a problem. I'm running Michelins and 40 psi. No visible oil leakage from the shocks. I only have 70K miles on it too. I'm looking into changing the front struts first and see what that does.

I still find it very hard to believe he 6.2 heavier XL gets better mileage than a Tahoe 5.3. Everyone here knows the 6.2 is a hog.
