2"-3" bell tech question

the trucks sit uneven from factory right rear sits higher what I would do is drive it around. The problem people see is after you lower it you can see it much more than before.

Also check the links i never have issues on these trucks and i even used the same kit on my escalade and turned out great but is till have the dam gm lean right rear sits 1/2 inch higher then left rear which is normal

you need to drive the truck abotu 500 miles for everything to fully settle. Just wait before you do something thats not really needed.

Like ive told many customers here drive it and thing check it in 500 miles. If needed i put the spacer on the drivers side to get rid of the gm lean that inturn will also lift the drivers side front and get it much more even

Ok I'll drive it for a little bit and see if the RR settles, He didnt do any before measurements (he must have been having an off day) so I didnt know the RR sat 1/2 higher from factory. What should I look for when i am checking out the links??? Do you know anything about the front LF being 1/2 lower than RF. This is the first Lowered rig I have ever owned I just didnt think it would look so slammed (IMO) maybe my perspective will change after I put my wheels on friday.



will do for 500 miles, Thanks Tony for all your help today, At my store we do alot wheels/tires/lift kits, but not alot of people looking to lower there stuff, and especially any NNBS GM's. I will probably have some more questions for you in the near future, but i will let the issue go for now and keep in touch. I have only had about 8 HRs of sleep in the last 48 so that could be part of the problem. HAHAHA

Jimmy -- Yes, that's the way mine is now.

I think the ride would be too firm for me without that spacer and the autoride airing up the truck with the links set at 3", but I haven't tried it, so I don't know for sure.

If you guys undestand the rear autoride system it also deals with the shock internal not just the bag. with the links set at 3inches and you pull the alrline out of the bags you will see the truck barly moves maybe 1/8 to 3/16 of a inch. NOt much air in bags.

If you adjust the links shorter the valving of the shock gets much more softer because its registering the truck sitting to high so will try to make the shock softer.

Once you understand how the autoride system works fully its not the air in the shock thats the issue but the main issue is the signal that the shock gets that tells it to be stiffer or softer.

the reason left front looks lower is because right rear is that much higher as I said you need to drive it for 500 miles let everthing settle.

btw only takes you guys 10 seconds to do this. Pull the airline from the top of the autoride shock you will see truck will barly move. just by disconnecting the rear autoride shocks off the shock extenders with no air in the bags the truck comes down over 1 inch from where its at now. This is because the autoride shocks NOT the air in them is keeping them up.

Jimmy -- What Tony is trying to say is that MOST if not ALL of these trucks are 1/2" higher on the passenger's side than the driver's side. That appears to be a fact. Mine is that way, too. If you lower the truck the same amount all around, which is what these kits do, then you'll STILL have the right side higher than the left. And that's front and rear.

For most folks who are used to the lowered look, your truck does NOT look "slammed." I think it looks great, personally. You're just not used to it. Heck, most people who do these kits and get used to it tend to want to go even lower.

It's not completely clear to me what the problem is with the links. Are you saying that the stock links' diameter is bigger than the Belltech links, and that the Belltech links therefor wouldn't stay in the link end without slipping out? Did you try to reinstall them when the axle was hanging way down? I'd imagine that too much droop on the rear axle could cause the links to pull out...

Also, if I remember correctly, the stock links are at 3-1/4". The Belltech links, although measuring 2-1/2" by themselves, will measure 3" WITH THE ENDS ON, since the ends are @ 1/4" themselves. So, if you got a measurement of 3" with the Belltech links installed, then you did it correctly.

Sounds like everything is fine. All you have to do is determine whether or not you like the look. To me, it looks MUCH better now.

Got mine lowered with the same kit/setting you did...and yes, im still getting used to it...sorta miss the rake, sorta dont...bigger wheels will definitely help

Yeah that looks good. I really like mine now that i have had it for a while and now that it has the wheels on it. it took some getting used too. I ended up playing with the links a little bit to even get the rear about 1/4-1/2" lower. I really like the stance it has now. I just did it, so i dont have a current pics yet.
