Hi all I am getting ready to install the 2/3 MCGaughys Delux kit (springs/spindles, etc) on my 05 YD. Also installing the Monroe Specialty shocks/struts. The parts should be here by the end of the week. Are there any tips I need to know or is it pretty straight forward?

Any help is greatly appreciated as I will be doing the work myself. I come from the German car scene (10+ Modified VWs) so I am no stranger to wrenching on vehicles and lowering...but domestic SUVs are new to me so please be kind :)

It's all pretty straight forward. Just unbolt and bolt back up. Longest part of the job will most likely the spindles but pretty easy. I would just check for anything that looks worn out like tie rods or ball joints to see if they need replaced. Other than that good luck and post some pics when she's all done

With a 2/3 you shouldn't need the free travel mod but I would take the current bumpstop and cut it in half to give a little more travel. As far as the auto level it should function all the same with or without the drop.

And thanks for the kind words man means a lot

If your keeping your auto ride suspension the links will need to be shortened . If the kit doesn't come with them you can cut yours down or make them using machine screws or ask people here that might have a set laying around. Definitely post pics when done!

How does it ride with the Z71 stops cut up front? Is it riding on them? Mine is riding on them and totally smashing the original ones.
