Good Afternoon:
Just purchased a 2014 Yukon XL and the glaring issue is the front directional doesn't move from defrost (both sides) and the rear does not blow hot but does change direction. Both are automatic controls. I tried doing the pull the fuse reset. I heard some movement and clicking in the front and it reset to 74*. But no correction for the front and back. I searched more on the forum and it seems not too much for the 14's and there is this tech 2 to TIS2 line the is drawn in the 2013 and 2014 range.
Before I start doing exploratory surgery or putting up the white flag and send my truck to GMC (which I historically have only sent my vehicles to a shop for recalls and alignments) Could I get a VXDIAG or MDI clone to do some calibrations or find DTC for my 2014?
Also is there anything straight forward to check also.

Thank you all. Hope to contribute and discuss more as I love this truck and this forum seem active with information.

The Tech-2 should work on your truck, but I've never been able to confirm this or get anyone to check for me. Are you in Florida by chance? Yes, you can get either of those others and do the same thing the Tech-2 can. You would first check for codes and there are probably some, and then you can try to recalibrate the actuators. I've been using my Tech-2 for years to keep from replacing the actuators! LOL

I'm not familiar with the later model trucks but don't forget that GM typically issues new "calibrations" (firmware) that can update some functions to work better or to fix issues. You can have the control reflashed if there is an update, which may or may not fix the issue.

So you think it is best to send this in to the dealer the first time around?

Not really, if you have a compatible scan tool and TIS2web, or whatever works with your truck. There are others on here that have used post-Tech 2 tools, I would think, and they would know how to check and update the calibrations at home.
