I have a new to me 2011 5.3L Yukon. Cam, Lifter & DOD delete was previously done with a "tune". No hard data on what was installed i do know they kit was from BTR. Week after purchase heard a lifter tick - had a shop confirm it was a lifter. I would like to go back to stock cam/lifter with DOD delete, is that an option? I've seen various opinions and I am normally a EURO person tinkering in Audi/VW so this is all new to me.

I was looking at this kit Part Number: CLMC1383 - Melling Branded and getting PCM sent off to have DOD deactivated and return whatever other values to stock.

Any input, advice or help?

Pics of the truck, please.

I'm a little confused. You say that the Delete was performed by a tune, and then you refer to a 'kit' from BTR. A tune only Delete does not use a kit, but a full mechanical Delete does use a kit.

Which is it?

Why not? GM offered three 5.3L Gen4 V8s built specifically LACKING any V4 mode hardware.
Obviously V4 mode would also have been disabled in the software for such lucky 5.3L V8s: LH8, LH9, LMF.

Your engine almost certainly had AFM deleted and turned off in the tune.

Besides the noisy lifter, what don't you like about the performance of the camshaft?

As I have gotten more information: To my Knowledge it had a BTR Stage 1 NSR Cam installed - Then then the previous owner has the vehicle Tuned by dirtydirty racing. I was ADVISED to just return everything to stock and replace the lifters - we had the vehicle less than a week before the lifter started making noise. Engine was rebuilt when the cam was done new pistons, rings, high flow oil pump etc. This will be my wife's daily so just want some accurate advise on what to do moving forward as previous owner offered to pay for parts to return it to stock cam but keep AFM deleted
