Get a scan tool and watch what your MAF is reading while driving.

Torque converter is shot. Seen this before. It goes downhill from here...Guess where all that fluid full of crap went to that your filter didnt catch? Your transmission...every inch of it. It will be dead sooner or later also.

Similar symptoms for me twice. Once was a clogged fuel filter. The other time was a fouled single plug which eventually threw a code.

need a new tranny but check fluid before you pull stiff appart. will be a pretty gd indication. any mechanic with their salt can single this out for certain. gd news is rebuilt and or second hand 4L60E is pretty cheap. it is a very common tranny.

easy to try the basics first,,,
check for misfire history with a scan tool--autozone will for free.
open the hood- hold the brake- and give it some throttle for maybe 15 seconds and watch the engine, feel the truck for vibrations. bad plugs, coils or electrical grounds can drop power under load.
if it has not had attention to tune up in a while it may be time.
the truck should have a strong pull against the brakes, if it does not and the engine runs away from the pull of the transmission it will give you a good clue as to where you need to focus.
