2000 Tahoe build thread with 6.0 swap

Well i guess i never had a build thread on here..so here it is..

Had my bagged truck for a while and got sick of it..started as a beat up work truck, ended up rebuilding the whole thing..new interior, best airride i could get..installed it all myself over the last year and a half..

Bought this Tahoe in November of 2008 and left it pretty much stock until this spring when i sold the bagged truck..i miss the truck after so much time and money into it, but i enjoy having a DD that i can just get in and go



Started out as a bone stock 2000 Tahoe, 140k on it. 5.3, LT, loaded with every option for the year..Its nothing special, but it works for a nice daily..I needed a break from the full custom like my last one

24" Boss 330s with 295/35/24 Nitto 420s
Hids, LED DRLs, Billet Grille
Tinted tails
Clear turn signals
5% tint

Interior
Esky Cluster
Pioneer 4100 DD custom install
18" BTL with Kicker 2500.1 amp


Motor
CAI, BB 93 octane tune, Magnaflow muffler

6.0 motor swap in progress..going to run it stock with a BB tune, shift kit, vette servo, and bigger cooler to start..Will cam it once i pick up a 4l65e

18" BTL sub with 2500.1 Kicker amp, Yellow top, big 3, 0 gauge wire..Need to recover the box..painted black right now..also need to build an amp rack

And today..put the roof rack back on


Picked up a 6.0 for the truck..cheaper then building up the 5.3 and will give a great starting point..Should be going in the 15th and 16th of August

Thanks guys...i will def keep the 6.0 thread updated and ya im hoping its a simple weekend deal..I know i need to swap flex plates, then put the starter and alt on the 6.0 and it should be good to go..

Im not going to cam the 6.0 yet..im worried about my 4l60e going out with just the stock motor so im just going to run it with a BB tune for a while..if the trans seems to be holding up fine ill do a mild cam and springs/pushrods..

im really hoping it gives me the gains im looking for..i mean it should be a big diff from the 5.3..before i could hang with my buddys stock 2005 6.0 in a reg cab long box, now with me havin a 6.0 tuned i should be able to take him no problem..thats kinda what im gauging it on haha..along with actually being able to spin the tires..
