stock 5.3 is 285/310
stock 6.0 is 300/360

with a BB tune i should see 30/30 gains with the 6.0, so that would put me up in the 330/390 range...i have one on the 5.3 right now, but that was only about 20/20 hp..

plus a CAI and exhaust..everything boosts the 6.0 more then the 5.3 so i should see a decent gain..

If you have the cash I'd look into putting e-fans in when you install the 6.0. That will free up some ponies too.

Be careful with that 4l60e they are only rated at 360. So with a tune and CAI and exhaust and no torque management you a probably over that rating. Just run it till it dies but I would guess that wont be very long. I blew mine at 57K with just a tune.

thats whats holding me back from a cam..but with a shift kit, servo, and bigger trans cooler it will really help the trans..heat and slippage are what kills them and i should have that covered pretty well..im on the look out for a 4l65e then i can cam it

Yeah the 6.0L stock should be in the realm of 320hp/360ft lbs. I'm sure you will notice a very nice gain, but honestly I wouldn't rush is if you plan on doing more to it. You don't want to install the motor and get everything all set up just to rip it all back out again soon and add a cam to it.

I would say until you get the trans, and beef up the engine a bit then put it all together at once if you really plan on making valvetrain mods. either way, though, the 6.0 is a sweet engine stock, and your truck should be noticeably quicker.

+1 on waiting for more parts. Your 5.3 will tide you over, just build up that 6.0 and take your sweet ass time. Tr224 cam, springs, rockers, pushrods, 3000rpm stall, and get your existing 4L60e built up or drop dime on a performabuilt/FLT just to have everything ready. I know it will suck waiting but you'll go from 300hp to 450hp
