I am distraught over which tires to get for the winter. On my passenger vehicles I like the blizzaks, but reviews (and I agree) say the treads are too close together and easily get clogged on slush or ice. Local place recommended Kelly Safari ATR - I am not impressed and they are very expensive. Online has a Hankook Winter iPike ? Anybody? Also local place claims for these trucks an All-Terrain tire is just as good as any Winter rated tire, but I do not really care what they say I want that snowflake symbol so I know it's rated for the elements.

So what kind of tires should I get? Help me out here!

Can you run studded tires? If legal then thats what i would use. Down here theres rarely any snow so not legal down here. Some use chains if we get snow. I just go slow and use the tires i got. Gotta check but they work fine in snow

Local place had Hankook Winter iPike RW11 on sale and the V patterned treads looked good to me so I got a set - so far I can tell you they are very good in heavy rain. It's supposed to snow on Thursday. Will see

I used a set of firestone destination le2s all last winter. they come highly recommended both in tread wear and comfort. Quiet.

I've put about 600 miles on them so far. The ride noise is very quiet (and I am very picky). Performance in wet is very good. The v-shaped treads kept me from hydroplaning up to 70mph in very heavy rain (full speed on the wipers). Haven't hit snow yet but flurries are predicted this weekend - will let you know.

They look pretty hot too:

I've never had a problem with blizzaks, in my opinion there the best you can buy.
