When i took off the differential cap off there was alot of broken pieces so i just bought a whole other differential off some guy i know off a 2004 tahoe 4x4 for 350 so i got it i got it installed and when i drove it its like if my hoe didnt want to go in gear and the rear will try to lock up...i dont know if its that differentialdo is bad too but a macanic said that i guess when a differential goes out like my original one did i guess something else on the tranny goes out too that makes the drive shaft spin or holds on to it idk i need help :/

did you make sure both of the gear ratios are the same?

if you have a different ratio and you try runnin in 4 youre gonna break something

Are you getting a traction control active message on the dash? It sounds like something is causing the traction control to activate.

I`m not sure where the wheel sensors read from on the rear but the new rear end may have a different gear ratio and that`s what`s causing the problem.

My tahoe doesnt have traction control....and yeah i double checked and they both are the same gear ratio 3.73....iv been getting different stories from different shops that it could be the transfer case or the tranny idk tho

Trans could have taken a shit or the limited slip in the new axle may be worse than your old one....hell the new one could be just as bad as the one it replaced. Drop dime on having a legit drivetrain facility look at your truck and stop going to ******** shops. I'd have pulled your diff cover and dropped the trans pan for signs of an issue. Good luck
