2001 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 vortec Issue

The issue is that it stalls and shuts off it does this randomly not all the time it might do it today for like 15 mins then it would run find for a couple of days. When this happens i turn it on right away and it idels find until you press the gas and it stalls and dies again.

Also when this happen the last time i opened the hood up and while i was pulling on the tb cable i can here a popping noise from the air intake box it sounds like is gasping for air. The only two code that i pulled this last time are bank 1 to lean and bank 2 to lean cause the other times the CEL didnt came on.

Oh one more thing when it shuts off the little window where it says oil change it says check oil pressure right when it shuts off but just for a couple of seconds tho.

A full tune up was does on it but problem is still happening.

Any suggestions on a solution?

When you say you did a "full Tune-up", what exactly did you do? Did it happen before the tune-up too?

You might even try taking the intake tube off the throttle body, and run it and try your TB cable trick to see if it still makes that popping sound.

Check Vac lines for leaks too.

Fuel pump is loosing pressure. Had the same problem with mine..

bluefamed03: Both were replaced when the tune up were done.

bahollis: Plugs, wires, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and oil change. Yea it did that is why the tune up was done. How do you do the TB cable trick? I checked them but ill recheck them when it does it again.

The cable trick - I meant whatever you did in your original post.

Check your fuel pressure. Also, clean your MAF sensor and see if that helps.

You said that right before it dies it says check oil pressure when it does it next time watch the oil pressure gauge to see if you loose oil pressure on the gauge, you might be loosing oil pressure and it might be shutting the engine off.

Well it happen again and id remove the intake tube and it still died and i also cleaned the MAF sensor and it's the same. Next is take it to a shop to get the fuel pump checked.

Is there a way i can check the fuel pressure on this truck?
