2001 Denali XL Randomly Won't Start

My wife drives a 2001 Denali XL and it keeps randomly leaving her stranded love it and don't want to trade it but she is getting fed up.

The truck will completely randomly not start. It won't turnover at all. Lights and radio etc. power up but the ignition is dead. Been through two batteries I think. My mechanic says trade it in. Only error codes are o2 sensors. Seems completely random. The wheel is not locked, she started backing out and pulling straight into the spot to try that. If you wait 20 minutes and try again it will always start.

My 2002 pick up does the same thing and has been doing it for years, i hear that its a bad spot in the ignition switch???? It might do it a few times in a day and not do it again for months and then it starts doing it again at random, It always eventually starts though so its only a minor annoyance at this point........usually i turn the key on/off a few times and tap the gas pedal and eventually it starts...... I figure that one day it will eventually give out and whatever it is will be quickly diagnosed by a trained tech and the proper repair made but until then i just keep plugging along
