Hi everyone. This is my first time posting, so your patience is appreciated.
I have a 2001 Tahoe LT with over 230,000 miles and is mostly in great shape.
I've seen countless forum posts around the internet that start off the same way is mine, but don't end up the same.
The lights that illuminate the basic gauges (that you can control with the dimmer switch) are not working. The cruise light, PRDL, and other things work fine. The fuse is good and I have replaced the headlight switch assembly. When I turn the dimmer knob, the only thing that works is the actual light inside the headlight switch assembly itself. I have checked the light bulbs in the gauge cluster and they are all good. I've checked every fuse in the fuse block under the dash and under the hood and everything is good.
The only other thing I've noticed is that when the headlights are tuned on manually, there is no chime when the key is removed from the ignition.
I've thought about replacing the BCM, but that's a bit more cash that I am willing to spend if it isn't the only option left.
Thanks for your help!
