I’ve heard that some of the 2002 year Denali xls on a 1500 chassis came with a 4L80E trans. I had a client with a 2002 xl Denali that I think had a 4L80 in it. It was pretty awesome. I’d love to have the 4L80 trans in my 2006. Would be an awesome rig haha. I thought all the Denali trucks with the 6.0L had the 4L65E trans?! That’s what I was told. Lol.4l80 only came in 2500 series suvs. The lower bellhousing can be unbolted on the 4l80 so it's ez to tell them apart. You have a 4160.

The 4L65E code is M32.The 4L65e came into being in 2001 however I would bet yours is the 4L60e.
Outside they don't really have any cosmetic cues that I am aware of. Your VIN would help as would the code on your glove box door. I believe the M30 code is the 4L60e. I'll have to look further for a code for the heavier duty 4L65e.
