Once in a blue moon, when I start my truck, it will die/shut off almost immediately and won't always restart immediately once it happens. Once it does, it may kinda idle rough and struggle but once you hold the accelerator down for a moment it clears up and runs fine. This only happens about 5 times a year, but its pissing me off.

any help?

I know exactly what that is. Its the fuel pressure regulator. I've heard many people have this problem, so I guess its fairly common. It will start, then die, then crank like 15-20 seconds before starting again, then run rough until you give it some throttle. I havent had any problems with mine, but my brother's 01 Tahoe had this problem. He had a guy replace his for about 75 bucks plus parts.

No $75 was just the labor for a shadetree mechanic to do it, I don't know how much the fuel regulator itself costs. Check your local parts store for a price on that. I'm pretty sure its on the fuel rail closer to the firewall on the driver's side of the engine. I think you have to remove the plastic engine cover to see it.

Looks like the part is about $75 bucks for a Delco one or about $50 for an aftermarket one.

Well I replaced the FPR and all has been well. But like I said, this only has happened like 2 times a year and the worst one was just a few weeks ago when I posted this. But ever since it has been fine. I will keep up to date
