So I just picked up a center console out of a 2003 GMC Yukon xl. Turns out this was a Bose vehicle and still has the little...6.5?... Subwoofer underneath it. I'm curious if anyone knows what the ohm load is on this. Or if the amp that runs it is actually in the console and if I can just power it back up with some new power and ground leads. Any info would be great guys thanks. Install will be in a 1995 tahoe btw. bymazugu.jpgy9u3upy6.jpg4yde7e4y.jpg

Really? How do I go about it? I looked for some wiring diagrams but I couldn't find anything. I have an aftermarket Kenwood radio, that doesn't matter does it?

And if I can hook it up...is this the 5 channel amp? If so I could possibly hook up my door speakers as well right?

Here is the wiring diagram for the amp. You could use your Kenwood radio with this amp.

This may help too. This is the diagram for the large connector for the main harness in the console. You need to ignore anything in the diagram that says "W/ Y91" next to it. That applies to Denali/Escalade consoles only. Everything else would apply to you. Sorry for the low quality of the image.

So this amp is 5 channel, and the four speaker channels are 4 ohm? That seems to easy for Bose lol would I need the low level signals hooked up to the corresponding speakers for it to work? I know audio somewhat and I can wire it all up...but when it comes to Bose I get lost real, real fast. Lol I appreciate the diagrams too by the way

I think the channels are 2 ohm. You would need the output from the Kenwood to go to all of the "low level inputs" on the Bose amp. Then all the outputs could go directly to your factory speakers or whatever speakers you have. I have done exactly what you are trying to do and even though the ohm ratings didn't match up, the system works well and sounds fine.

Interesting. I guess I'll attempt this then. I've got alpines in all my doors. So I would run speaker wire from the radio outputs, to the low level inputs of the amp, then on the amps outputs run speaker sire to the speakers from the amp? Like a normal amp RCA from radio to amp, speaker wire from amp to speakers. Except no RCA

Exactly! I did it using rca cables, I just cut them open and used the wires inside to go from the radio to the amp.

I wasn't aware you could do that with rcas. They just have a power and ground in them?

Oooh! That's much better than what my FSM shows. I mean I have all the info, but it looks like a standard wiring schematic. May I ask where you got it?

Exactly! I did it using rca cables, I just cut them open and used the wires inside to go from the radio to the amp.

Interesting... How is the volume? From all I've read I gotten the understanding the NON LUX amp used speaker level inputs from the OEM headunit. The LUX amp uses a fixed low level input, and the volume is controlled digitally in the amp through the BUS...

I wasn't aware you could do that with rcas. They just have a power and ground in them?

It's actually a signal wire and a shield wire, but yeah same basic thing...
