So I would guess the signal wire would be my positive, and shield wire would be negative? I also thought that RCA where normally high level outputs. Are the ones on my stereo low level outputs? This just seems to good to be true with Bose...they make everything so difficult...sorry for asking so many questions. Most of my experience is with subwoofers and large amplifiers. Not smaller amps and massive wiring harnesses lol

By the way. What in the world is a drain wire?

Correct. RCA are a low level output. As in they won't drive a speaker by themselves. There are whats called high, and low level RCA outputs, and what they are referring to is the voltage level of the output. Higher level RCAs allow you to run the GAIN setting on your amp lower because the signal to the amp is stronger. With the higher level you have a lesser chance of unwanted electrical noise entering the system. They still won't drive a speaker without an amp. The Non LUX amps (and unless you have a Denali or an Escilade you won't have that amp) work just like your sub amps you're familiar with except they use a speaker level input instead of the RCA level input.

Okay I see, thus the reason cutting the end of the RCA and connecting it to the input wires of the amp works. Thank you. I'm still debating if I want to go through the trouble of using this thing...or trying to sell it for double what I paid for the console itself... Lol

Interesting... How is the volume? From all I've read I gotten the understanding the NON LUX amp used speaker level inputs from the OEM headunit. The LUX amp uses a fixed low level input, and the volume is controlled digitally in the amp through the BUS...

The volume is excellent. I think the levels going into the amp are low level. They are labeled that way at least. Yeah, the LUX amp is completely different.

So I was looking at the pinouts on these harnesses, and I can't figure out how an audio signal gets to the amp for the subwoofer? All it has for the subwoofer is output, and all it has on the amp pinout is speaker inputs and outputs but no subwoofer... I'm a little confused looking at all these wires lol

The amp just uses the signals from the radio and provides a dedicated subwoofer output. It isn't like an aftermarket radio that has a a separate sub output.

So it just pulls signals from any of the low level speaker inputs?

Okay cool. I'm going to test the sub and amp before I put all of it in, just couldn't figure out where to splice the subs into. Thanks again

So if you don't mind me picking your brain again. I'm having no luck with this sub and amp. I used my power and ground from the radio for the amp, the 12v remote to the pink radio on signal if the amp, and a set of RCA to the front left low level positive and negative. What do I need to hook up to the front low level signal (-). Me and my buddy are having the worst time with figuring out how to wire this up. Sorry for asking so many questions
