Did you off to pay him an hour's labor to check the pressure?

You hired him to put in a part, he did. Thus his job is complete regardless of outcome.

I wouldn't touch either one of those POS with a 10 foot pole.

Go to napa and buy the proper pump...
or buy an OEM

i just found a new one locally. its part Gm part number 88965556...is that one fine? its $150 they guy bought for a yukon but it got wrecked, new in box...he said its a ac delco. he said its a newer style pump and that gm changed the pump a few years ago b/c 00-05 tahoes often had fuel pump issues. he works for gm

as far paying the original mechanic to test the pressure, he should've done that before he let me drive the truck away from his shop. he didnt fully do his job b/c if he would've checked the pressure i wouldnt be in the sitsuation im in now...
i have a personal mechanic and he just tested it for me. its only putting out 33psi so he said he's gonna change it for me as soon as i get another pump and he warranties his work plus i trust him a lot more that the mechanic that did my truck. the only reason i dealt with ther guy that did it was b/c my uncle deals with him and my mechanic was on his honeymoon.
