These clusters go out all the time. Mine was basically bad when I bought my truck. I bought a new one at $300, and sold my denali one for a core price of around $120 to get some of my money back.

So I tried all of this and I bought a circuit tool( looks like a screwdriver and lights up when there's a draw). I went through every fuse. Under the hood, driver side panel and the on under dash next to steering column. Is there anywhere else to look?? I don't want to have to give this to a shop...

I just posted something about my tahoe with same problems....my problem was alternator

All the computers in your truck don't go to sleep after "2mins". Follow these steps. Step 1 key off ignition off. Step 2 pop the hood. Step 3 roll window down n close door. Step 4 wait 45 mins and use your ammeter on power cable coming from the battery.

You're not really understanding. Im not making any assumptions about what the computers do. I'm simply reporting what the multimeter said.

No.. I'm understanding fully. I'm just also thinking out loud and writing it down for a place keeper that way others can benefit from our diagnosis as well with troubleshooting.

If you decide to stay pulling fuses, make sure to not to reinsert then, otherwise the computers wake up again. In your case, if you are really seeing 3.77 amp draw, observe how long the draw lasts. Your battery may be weakening instantaneously, which causes the battery to deep cycle, which makes it that much harder to start. 3 main culprits are the factory radio, factory amp, and factory gauge cluster. With the truck off, start instantly pulling either of those fuses while observing amp draw so we can isolate it. From there I will be able to give your further direction..:waytogo:
