Drove Yukon to store the other day. Ran fine. Went to start it to leave, and it would crank but not start. Came back 2 hours later and still would crank, but not start. Noticed when I cranked over engine that tachometer didn't move. Had towed home. Went out the next day to hook up a fuel pressure gauge, and it started right up. Need to fix because it will eventually fail again. Does the fact that tachometer
didn't move mean crank sensor? Thanks for any advice.

my moneys on the pump
i think they were intentionally designed to fail after 100k
and you must drop the fuel tank to replace the pump
and dont be one of those guys and cut a hole in the floor of the cargo area to swap out the pump
also this should go without saying but since ive seen it happen
run all the gas outta the tank before you drop the tank

Started right up this morning. Let it run for 15 minutes. Shut it off. Tried to restart it, ran rough for a couple of seconds then died. Won't restart. Put fuel gauge on fuel rail. Showed no fuel pressure. When I removed gauge there was fuel in the line . Gauge is new. Blew some air in gauge and it appears to work. Just don't want to pu'' tank down if that is not the problem.

It's the pump. Next time it wont start bang on the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet while you have a friend hold the key in the crank position. Usually 1st or 2nd whack and the pump starts working again and the truck will start.
