the purge solenoid would likely throw a small vacuum leak (evap) code if it was bad.

since you are unable to find a intake leak
I would monitor the fuel pressure and a do a leak down test, if that passes then
my primary suspect would be the MAF 1st, followed by the 02 sensors 2nd
Thanks for the reply, I pretty much ruled out an air leak. I just did a test with some starting fluid ( not smart, I know) and nothing. I will get a fuel pressure kit, I had one but I've moved and lots of things still in boxes. I had changed my MAF a few years ago and that solved nothing. The reading on my MAF isn't too bad??? Thanks again

One thing that came to mind is my fuel filter, I have 177K and have never changed it but again I have no hesitation under acceleration or passing.

Lots of auto parts places will "rent" you a fuel pressure kit. You put down a deposit and get that refunded when you return the tool within a certain amount of time (usually days). Essentially free.

I've found that the easiest way to find a tool that I knew I had but couldn't find, was to buy another one. All of a sudden I have two, right there. :)

LOL, I've done that also so many doubles. Thanks I'll check with a few locals.

so what else has never been changed?
looking back at your original post looks to me like you need to replace the 02 sensors, I am assuming since you have never changed the fuel filter at 177k then the 02 sensors have probably not been done either? they are only rated for 100k, they often last longer but then you run into issue's like this. If I missed something post up what all you have done thus far.

I have replaced the O2 sensors at least twice in 3 years, all fuel injectors, MAP sensor, MAF sensor and new plug connector, Spark plugs, Wires 8MM, Air filter number of times, Knock sensors, 8 Coils . I hate to throw money at things that isn't it but when you're desperate you do dumb things.

Yesterday I hooked up my scanner ( cheapo) and used the live data. At Idle 530 rpms my B1 LTT 12.5 B1 STT +2.3 - 0 B2 STT 25 pegged B2 LTT +23.4 - +25.8
At 2500 and 3500 rpms B1 LTT 25 pegged B1 STT +1.6 - + 8.6 B2 LTT 25 pegged B2 STT +45 - +50

This morning I did the fuel pressure 40 psi key on not started, 59 psi at idle , 57 psi at 2500 and 3500.

I'm wondering if the injectors were the correct ones?
