for the light bar to come on there's a separate fuse tap. on the morimoto's, you might be able to wire yours in to be on when the key is on too with some mods.

These didn't come with that but do you have the instructions for the morimotos that shows where to tap that in? These could easily be changed to be wired the same.

yeah, it's just a ign switched fuse in the box. I'd have to look at the number if anyone needs it but nothing special. 2$ fuse tap in a slot that has power when the key is on.

just saying cause it sounded like you wanted it that way. these do have a little bit of logic to them thou, they are brighter when the head lights are off and then dim a bit when lights are on at night.

but I doubt most people would notice. no biggie.

You said you had them polished, so are they just hazy? I just used the Cerakote Headlight Restoration kit on the 08 Tahoe I just bought ; the headlights were terribly hazy and they look like new now. It costs about $25 and only takes an hour or less. Super easy.

I've tried a few different aftermarket headlight assemblies for our 2008 and 2013 Tahoe's. All wound up being failures. Either bad fits, leaking, terrible beam pattern, or flaky/useless adjustment. I eventually just went with OEM GM assemblies. Perfect fit, working adjustments and correct beam pattern. I also replaced the halogen bulbs with quality (key here is QUALITY) LED's. The cutoff is perfect and non blinding to oncoming traffic. The only mod for LED's is you may need to trim a little of the framing behind the assembly for LED bulb fan clearance. Simple and easy with a small grinder.

As a side note, the closest to OEM I've found are Dorman. They are good quality, OEM fit and function at half the cost. But the small reflector cup in front of the low beam bulb is ever so slightly different. They work fine if you stay with halogen bulbs, but have a funky beam pattern if you install LED bulbs. Again, the factory OEM assemblies work great with LED bulbs.

WOW! Nice job. I tried that on my headlights, and it didn't do crap. After seeing yours, I'm going to assume user error for me.

Did you follow the instructions- first the oxidation removal towelettes until they’re all used up, then wet sand with 2000 and 3000 grit, and then make sure they’re 100% dry and then wipe on the clear coat?
Edit: the only way I see it failing if you did was if there’s stuff on the inside. Obviously you can’t fix that if they did.

Here's the thread around here somewhere for the morimoto's. but I can't find the link right now.

probably the best over all aftermarket for the yukon but not cheap.

their thing is to copy the look up the Gen newer. they do it for a lot of cars from yukons to corvettes. make your c6 have c7 headlights.

I didn't the headlights and picked up the tails that look like the next Gen up too. kinda freshened the look at a bit, but I also like the look up the next Gen probably the best out all of them. so I'm biased lol. but I don't have they money, or want that drive train.

I have the same combination on my 2010 Yukon Xl. I was looking to upgrade the headlights to something better - after trying a number of different bulbs in the stock headlights and not seeing much improvement. Put the Morimotos in - and yes - they are expensive - but they are definitely MUCH better than stock. I'm older now and the stock headlights were a problem seeing at night sometimes. The Morimotos are great - really light up the road and they have an excellent beam patter. I would definitel recommend if you have the money.

The tailights you have look just like the ones I have. I had one bad taillight and was lookign to see if I could upgrade to something better looking . Chose the ones with the next-gen look to them and have been very happy. They're definitely brighter than the stockers and I like the amber turn signal. Makes the truck look a little like the next-gen. I also put in a pair of Diode Dynamics backup bulbs and those are a HUGE improvement too over the stock bulbs. The tail lights I put in were from Spyder.
