Alright mate thanks for the explanation about the Turbo choice.e Yes I was also thinking, you already should have enough towing power. And then you can rev it out when you go for a rip! Kinda cool you guys do manual swaps. I'm used to only drive manual since we are kinda the other way around when it comes to manual/automatic. All though the %sh of automatic transmissions are now growing and manuals will eventually die :( . But to add my feeling; I think a auto really fits vehicles like Tahoes but I'm really keen to drive a manual one though. My Honda Del Sol was a auto, but that really didn't fit that kind of car, at least how I like to drive it.

The manual trans swap is not common on these trucks, I agree an auto is better in an SUV for 99.9% of people especially with kids or large families. But I treat this truck more like a 3/4 ton work truck with a topper on the back lol. If you come to Disney in Florida I'll let you drive this one. :happy160:

Also on the turbo thing, super chargers don't make as cool or noises.

So I had to run across town last night and as soon as I got into town a new RAV4 was riding my ass with HIDs in reflector housings. So I moved over to let the POS passed and suddenly we found ourselves lined up at the light. I shit you not he then began staging I could see him foot brake it up on the converter and then he was letting on and off the brake making the car lurch forward. So I let him have it with a 1st gear rolling launch up to about 80mph in 3rd and to my surprise, he was right on my back door! Then he did a ricer flyby and began weaving through traffic like a *******. I''m just stunned a 4cylinder with a CVT could come close to this truck. I know my Tahoe is not really fast but I estimate it can squeeze a low 14 or maybe a high 13 1/4mile. I've driven a newer RAV4 and it was dreadfully slow and unresponsive, maybe they make a sport model or something. Totally caught me off guard, although I suppose I probably caught him off guard too.

After that encounter, I starter noticed a lot of other modified cars rolling around including a first-gen Ford escape with red and chrome suspension and a set of skinnies in the front and fat tires in the rear. It was too dark to tell if it was something special or something "special". So all the odd modified vehicles made me think maybe the RAV4 was modified which would be a first for me.

Anyone know if theres a following for such RAV4s?

Pic of the aprox year and color of what nearly beat me.
